Al,
I just wanna say how much I appreciate all the great stuff you’ve taught me. Iv just finished the first book and i cant wait to get my hands on the dvd series.
About 2 years ago my friend and me got into a fight with these two drunken kids one night, just out of the blue. This made me decide i had to sort this whole fighting and protection thing out as soon as possible but i had no idea where to start.
I was a little skeptikal about your stuff cos as well as ju jitsu I tried learning what i thought was real fighting techniques from guys saying they were experts but their stuff was just the same old. After reading your newsletters i was amazed at how much you knew about what goes on in fights and how to deal with it.
The best part is where you go into detail on what the whole mentality thing behind fighting is and how to spot guys who are just bluffing. If i had learned that a long time ago i would have saved myself a lot of time.

I’m a CEO working in New York City, but I also travel on business a lot. I have been on more than my fair share of self protection courses, but most of them were just so obvious it wasn’t worth attending. When I travel I usually have anything between $10,000 and perhaps as much as $10,000,000 in customer details and sensitive company data. If I cant protect myself, it could cost me more than just my job.
This is why Steelknuckle impressed me so much. I have really been put off the idea of learning a fighting art or combat style, I’m a businessman who needs results and information fast. I particularly like the way that cut through all the myths and nonsense to get the real meat and useful information. Another thing I can really put to use is the psychology aspect. I have great fun analysing guys I work with. As you can imagine, at my level there are a lot of people hiding a lot of things, so its great to work out what they are. Great book Al!

Steelknuckle is the first self defense program I’ve used and I cant see myself needing anything else. Your newsletters and ebooks were great. Everything was so to the point and for a newbie like me that was great. I had thought about martial arts and in particular self defense but the way that you keep everything so easy to understand made me choose Steelknuckle over them. I like reading the issues about dealing with bullies and how you can fins out what their weaknesses are. I was bullied when I was a kid in high school and I have to be honest it has affected me pretty badly, but the confidence tips and ways you talk about bullying have completely changed my outlook. |

Hey Al, thanks for all the stuff you taught me in your ebook it was priceless. I have been training in and out of Mauy Thai boxing for about 6 years now. Every time I go back the instructor makes me loads of promises about the new stuff were gonna learn, but I keep leaving because some of the stuff we learn just doesn’t make any sense to me. When I told him that you must never punch with a fist he said that isn’t true but then I asked him how you can stop breaking your fist he just couldn’t think of an answer. Its good to know that people like yourself have actually thought about all the effects of fighting and what the objectives are than these guys who just teach stuff and never know if any of it works.

Your material has really changed my perception on what fighting is all about. When I started your book I thought I knew at least something about fighting and violence from the movies and now I know that I KNEW NOTHING.
I know exactly what you mean when you talk about people not realizing what works on the street and what works in theory. I cant believe the stuff I thought happened in real street fights, it seems so dumb now!
Anyway, my favourite chapters would probably be ground fighting and grabs. These have to be the most common things in a fight and when you understand how the mechanics of fights work, these kinda things are invaluable.
Keep up the good work.

I was attacked twice as a young teenager and both times men just stood by and watched. I started learning kick boxing to defend myself and I reached black belt level. But just over a year ago I was involved in a fight with another woman and although i was much stronger and faster it just turned into a brawl. This is why I think your book has helped me so much. If i had known about the A-frame I think I probably could have ended that fight in under 6 seconds and im sure that I wouldn’t have suffered the same kind of injuries as i did.
I don’t think il leave kick boxing just yet because its a good work out and I can still train for self defense using your ebook at home which i think is better because i prefer to focus on my own needs other than just what my coach wants me to train with.

I’ve been a police officer for over 26 years and I have had my fair share of the whole ins and outs of hand to hand combat. It was originally for my two teenage sons, but even I have found some great principles and new ways of thinking. This is both in and out of work.
Like i said I have two boys who are 13 and 16. I taught them a few moves and gave them advice when they were much younger, but they are teenagers now and a buch kids at my youngest sons school got kicked out for getting into fights so i wanted to make sure they could defend themselves.
Your moves are pretty good and maybe one or two are a little too extreme from my perspective as an officer but i think overall you have hit the mark with not becoming an attacker in a fight.
Where you really made a difference for my two boys was the way you explained bullying and fear. I have always known about this kinda stuff working criminals and victims of crime, but I have never been able to really put it across to my kids in the same way you do. What really impressed me was the way you could develop confidence in my kids about their ability and why they shouldn’t let pride get themselves killed. As a parent that is your worst nightmare and i have seen it happen as a police officer so I’m always aware my kids could get caught up in something that costs them their life. You never stop worrying about your kids but i feel much better knowing that they have these kinds of skills and knowledge.
I commend everything you are doing with your instruction and I have already told my friends and family about what you do so i hope they get the same out of it as we did. We would sure be interested in a seminar if you have one coming up soon? |

First off, i'm a girl. Second of all I really like alot of your letters. Keep them coming! For example: 3 Guys who can't fight, seemed like you we're just trying to sell your book at first, but when I got into it, what can I say, I was hooked!
The secret of cocky confidence was a great theory, I never realised just how much stuff goes on in fighting and arguments.
In another letter you said speed was the most important thing... I agree with this 110%. My martial arts instructors all said power was more important, but that just didn’t make any sense! I have a speed bag in my room which I work on.
I really liked your how to avoid a sucker punch! It was mostly common sense but when people are amped (especially un trained ppl), they tend to blank and panic, so they catch cracks. Now when tempers flair, I usually look at peoples chest too so I can see arm movement from the shoulder. Great advice!
^_^ Keep up the good work, I love reading it! |
